You know you’re aging when….

You no longer get invitation to your friend’s birthday party… Instead, they become your friends’ kids full month / one year old birthday party. Such is life.

As for friend’s birthday or our own birthday, a simple dinner together is already considered a bliss.

Worse, your title changes from “Miss” to “Aunty”….

Even “Jie-Jie” (Or Cheh-Cheh) is something you have to threaten then baru ada.
(Yes! I once threatened a kid saying “Call me Jie jie else I hit you ah!”)

HHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Just kidding…

Okay okay, I admit, I said that to a cute little girl but in a joking way bah…..

Once in a while, SD gotta be fun!

We have SD (Staff development) every Tuesday and Wednesday (so Bobby Lim and all other dogpig friends, stop assuming I nap every afternoon okay!) and this week’s one is awesome!

First we had an invited speaker who talked to us about financial health check and then the next day, we had archery! Both were a lot of fun and we really learned something new.

When we saw the bow in BJ Archery, we were laughing that the bow is somewhat ‘taller’ than a lot of our colleagues and even our bosses joined in the mockery. My principal even joked that after she masters it, she’s going to send memo to teachers using bow and arrows!

Didie’s Thirty-ish belated birthday surprise

The initial plan was… surprising her in Sugarbun because it’s near to our work place, less crowd hence we can be as loud as we want… which that’s what we are best in!

The only photo I took in Sugarbun.

But then……..the clueless pregnant mummy forgot to bring the gift and cake so we had to come up with plan B, which is celebrate in work place. So we all headed back to school and waited for the birthday girl to come together with Sheepy and Shirley. Sekali that two bimbos didn’t make Didie stay and didie terus drove off!

Panicked, I quickly called Didie and lied saying she need to come back to school right away because there’s an urgent letter that need to be sent off to the office in Seria. And she believed. Hahhahahaa. I’m damn good in lying! Most probably because I’m serious and pemarah at work so my colleagues usually will listen to me.

Her gift and cake, which she hinted soOOoOooOoOooOo many times that, “I don’t have any cake this year”

Moo Moo Cake with no candles but a “Thirty-ish” flag.

Getting ready for the surprise.

And.. here come’s the birthday girl!

Look at the expression on her face, priceless!
Banar banar shock ni.

She was worried about the urgent letter and suddenly this. She only registered after a while that the whole thing was just a lie.

Surprise birthday girl~

Group photo without me, Z and BBR.

Thank you self-timer, else I wouldn’t be able to be in the photos.

Guess how old is she!

Unwrapping… Look how bored Vky was!

Her ‘gifts’ in the box were actually all her junks in her drawers. We just put it all in to create to make her thing that her gift is something else, with all the weight.

Photoshopped her "real gift” in to the above photo.
The bag.

Oh, and also drew one on the mahjong paper.
Her other gift was stick on the box, can you see?

Yeap, an “OutOfTunes” card I spent the whole Sunday Morning making.
It’s worth it.

Her “birthday” moo-moo cake from Lof.

April…. 3 of my colleagues have birthday in April. Kapeh eh!

Muffins & Co.

After 1.5 hours of swimming, my tum tum craved for something sweet so I asked Bobby to bring me to Airport Mall for some yummy muffins at Muffins & Co.

All I knew was … it’s inside the Airport Mall but we went in circles looking for it! Then I googled it up only to find out that it’s inside the Souq, an area that made us feel like we’re not even in Brunei!

It’s in the super-ko-lok-tou…. Sorry, it’s just a Cina-Belait slang for corner. The outlet is not very big, just a glass cabinet displaying the muffins, and a cashier counter next to it. So basically you just ‘tapao’ and walk away. Will be better if they have some tables and chairs, serving a nice pot of tea to go with the muffins lah. Since, the atmosphere over there was so good.

We couldn’t wait till we find a proper place to eat and terus open the paper bag and sunk our teeth in!

Bobby had Cinnamon Cranberry and Walnuts and Banana Almond for me.

For the first bite, it was just normal for us.. nothing special. But as we took a few more bites, the flavour, the aroma got better and better and we couldn’t stop munching! It wasn’t very sweet like most muffins (I like) and guilt-free as they reduced the sugar levels, high in fibre and has low GI.

Can’t wait for the savoury one lah!

Modesto Bistro & Grill

It was during the first semester school holiday that I was in BSB and Maurina invited me as her plus-one because she knew that Modesto has a different meaning to me. It was the place where I got proposed.

Truth is… neither of us (Bobby & I) wanted to visit Modesto again (even though it meant quite a lot to us) because the food was nothing to ‘wow’ for and they served pretty slow…. And after the visit in March with the foodies, I changed my mind!

They have new menus and even better, A NEW CHEF!

Who was supposed to entertain us with his voice and guitar but in the end he didn’t…

The food served was way way way better! And I can’t wait to go back again and order “Excuse me, one lasagna please” . According to the chef, instead of pasta sheets, he uses crepes so it’s less heavy. Woohoo!

Must.take.photos.before.eating!

Food we had that night.
*Pardon me for not remember any of the name ya… *

Escargots!

WE ALL LOVED THIS TO BITS! THIS LAMB RACK IS DA BOMB!

Cod fishes

Everyone’s favorite, WAGYU with couscous!

For the lunch menus.
